Where do I start?
This is essentially what Session Players Tasmania is all about, we want to make it as easy as possible for anyone wanting to learn traditional music on any instrument. Have a look on our events page to see when our next workshops are on.
If you already have an instrument, great, you can start learning right away. If not, please make contact on our FaceBook group and come along to one of the regular sessions around the state, introduce yourself and ask all the questions you can think of, there will always be players who can give advice on what to look out for or what to avoid when buying an instrument.
If you are new to this genre of music then start listening to everything you can find (have a look on our instrument pages to find suggested artists for specific instruments).
There are many accomplished musicians in Tasmania who would be happy to do private lessons, you just have to ask.
