Coming all the way from Wodonga Victoria, Jody Moran is returning to Deloraine Celtic Music School in 2026 to teach tenor banjo that will be inclusive of mandolin also. Jody has tutored tenor banjo extensively over the past 25 years in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and France, and has also twice won the gold medal in the newly composed tune category at Fleadh Cheoil nah Eireann. Since emigrating to Australia in 2009, Jody has been nurturing the trad music scene in Victoria by holding his own traditional music festival in northern Victoria, and nurturing many players along their musical journey with regular tuition. Jody brings a great amount of regional Irish tune knowledge and tips to his classes always. Jody’s tenor banjo class is aimed at intermediate-advanced level.
Elective: Jody will teach how to write an Irish trad tune that sounds traditional from scratch. Jody ran this class in 2024, and we still get feedback from participants about how good this class was.
